Frequently asked questions
The things people usually ask before working with an art consultant. Anything else, just email us.
What does an art consultant actually do?
We do the work between wanting art and owning it: understanding your space and taste, searching galleries and artist studios, shortlisting real options with honest prices, negotiating the purchase or commission, and coordinating delivery, framing, and hanging. You keep every decision; we remove the legwork and the guesswork.
How much does it cost?
Our advisory fee is quoted per engagement and agreed before we start, separate from the artwork budget, which stays fully yours and fully transparent. A search for a single piece costs far less than curating a whole building. Email us a few lines about the project and you will have a clear number within one business day.
I've never bought original art. Is this for me?
Especially for you. First-time buyers are the clients we enjoy most. We explain how pricing works, what to look for, and where the real value is, and we never push you toward expensive for its own sake. Many first pieces we place are by excellent emerging artists at very approachable prices.
Do you sell your own art or inventory?
No, and that is the point. We carry no stock and take no hidden commissions from sellers, so our advice has one master: what suits your space and budget. When a gallery or artist pays any referral fee, we disclose it and deduct it from our own fee.
Can you arrange a commissioned artwork?
Yes. When the right piece does not exist yet, we match you with an artist whose work fits, help define the brief, agree the price and timeline, and manage the process through sketches, approval, and delivery.
Do you work outside Croatia?
Yes. We are based in Kastav, near Rijeka, and work across Croatia in person. For clients elsewhere in the EU we work remotely: video walk-throughs of your space, digital shortlists, and shipping and installation coordinated with local partners.
What kind of budgets do you work with?
Honest ones of every size. We have placed wonderful first pieces for a few hundred euros and curated business spaces with five-figure budgets. What matters is matching ambition to budget up front, and we will tell you plainly what is realistic.
What if I don't like what you propose?
Then we keep looking, and we talk about why, because every no sharpens the search. You are never obliged to buy anything, and our shortlists exist to be argued with. The goal is a piece you will still love in ten years, not a quick sale.
